Neff, E.P.
Abstract
Journeying into the field to study a model organism in its natural habitats. “Seeing them in the wild and seeing what kind of substrates they are on has really helped inform that for us, and we hope that helps inform other husbandry questions too,” says Shelton. Sampling light conditions in the wild helped her and her colleagues identify light parameters that were low enough to retard excessive algal growth, minimizing the need for tank changes, without negatively impacting visual development.
