The psychological well-being of reptiles (1993)
Kreger, M. D.
Abstract
Recommendations for the species-adequate housing of reptiles. The most common method of decreasing animal exposure is the use of retreats. Retreats such as 'hidebox' shelters and crevices should reflect the animal's lifestyle and should run the length of the thermal gradient so the animal will not have to choose between thermoregulation and psychological security.
