Abstract
Description of rabbit-adequate floor pen housing and cage housing systems and species-adequate handling. Behavioural work that the author has carried out has shown a significant improvement in the quality of life for group housed animals, even those regarded as subordinate, compared to those housed in solitary confinement. .. All handling should be firm but gentle. No data are included in this article.
