Abstract

Mirrors, rubber toys and chains were placed in each pen during weeks 2 and 4 of one-month study period. Although novel exposure to non-nutritive enrichment devices reduces aggression in socially housed monkeys, the effect is not sustained. Among divices, mirrors are particularly attractive to monkeys but they are monoplized by high ranking group members.
