Resolving issues of psychological well-being and management of laboratory nonhuman primates (1989)
Bayne, K.
Abstract
The survey indicated that approximately 83% of adult captive primates at NIH are caged alone. As only 9% of scientists interviewed currently train their animals to go into tansport cages, the majority use squeeze panels to transfer animals or to restrain them at the front fo the cage. ..The most frequent recommendations [of NIH scientists interviewed] were for larger and more complex cages.
