Recreation for rhesus monkeys (1997)
Wages, J.
Abstract
Foraging log: We took a section of a tree trunk or branch and drilled a bunch of 1-inch-deep holes. ... The log is hung from the top of the monkey's cage.. Treats can then be put in the holes. Our juveniles not only like to eat the food but like to swing on the toy as well. ... Stainless steel water bowls: Our juvenile rhesus monkeys eat all of the treats, splash in the water, and play with the bowl. The funniest thing I've seen with them has been the new craze of sitting in one of the bowls and pushing themselves around the cage by their arms. No data are included in this article.
