Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of an anxiolytic drug, buspirone, in rhesus macaques with a history of self-injurious behavior. ... However, self-biting was more prevalent during periods of high activity. Treatment with buspirone was not associated with decreased time in self-biting, stereotypic or anxiety-related behavior.
