Abstract
This is a systematic method of introducing two adult macaques in a way that minimizes risks - and lets the monkeys have some control over the process.The alternative method of simply introducing unfamiliar animals into one cage is ethically not acceptable because of foreseeable, possibly injurious fighting over dominance.
