Mirror reactions in a zoo colony of cebus monkeys (1989)
Collinge, N. E.
Abstract
The intermittent exposure to a mirror over a 5-week period produced species-specific social reactions [in group-housed animals] to the mirror. The duration of mirror viewing of subadults was over twice that of the adults. The average viewing time decreased substantially over the course of the study but the monkeys were still spending an appreciable time at the mirror after five weeks.
