The most stimulating thing you can possibly add to the environment of a guenon is a conspecific. ... One of the tragedies of modern laboratory animal research has been the tendency to use hardware and isolation to solve research problems instead of patience, a well-prepared protocol, and a supply of rewards (peanuts).
