Langur monkeys (Presbytis entellus) in captivity (1989)

Taff, M. A. , Dolhinow, P.

Abstract

A langur-appropriate enrichment program for group-housed animals is described. Although the stress produced by catching a group member may be substantial, it can be minimized with some thoughtful cage designs. ... It is necessary to train the animals to move freely through a capture shoot or tube by requiring them to move through the structure on a regular basis such as before feeding. We have tried this with great success. [Training technique is not described.]
