Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine whether exposing individually housed rhesus macaques to various manipulanda would not only decrease their frequency of 'unacceptable' behaviours (e.g., pacing), but also increase the frequency of 'acceptable' behaviours (e.g. presenting). ... The turf board was the most enriching, followed by the peanut shaker, peanut puzzle, fleece board, and finally the Kong toy.
