Free roaming enrichment and exercise room (1998)

Lynch, R., Williams, A., Baker, D.

Abstract

Monkeys were brought into the room in their cage as pairs and then released. Each pair is in the room approximately 1.5 hours at least once every 10 days. At the end of the enrichment period, a clean cage with bananas (their favorite) is brought into the room. Most (80%) of the monkeys will go immediately into their cage. For the reluctant monkeys, we remove the apparatus they perch on and soon, within 1-5 minutes, they return to their cage.
