Exploratory behavior and learning in laboratory marmosets (Callithrix jacchus jacchus): Comparison between experimental-cage and home-cage activity (1995)
Foster, F. C.
Abstract
My experiments have shown that the exploratory behavior of [single-housed] captive marmosets is readily enhanced by the addition of novel play objects in their cages. The implementation of a learning task (particularly a food-reinforced one) can also produce increases in activity, although this effect is rather short-lived.
