Ethological demands in the keeping of pigs (1982)

Bogner, H.

Abstract

Some requirements for the adequate housing of pigs are discussed. Quantitative production performance can be no criterion as to whether the essential demands of the animals concerning locomotion, resting, comfort and social behaviour are met or not. Production yield can only signify that the quantitative and qualitative nutrients, water supply and microclimate are adequate, that the animal did not suffer from clinically proved illness ..
