Environmental structure influences use of multiple video-task devices by socially housed pigtail macaques (1994)

Abstract

The video-task paradigm does appear to be a useful method of promoting environmental enrichment for social groups of captive primates. Our data suggest that the cage front, while often convenient, may not optimize enrichment potential. We hypothesize that our subjects may have preferred engaging the tasks at more secure sites away from areas of caretaker activity.
