The juveniles who were transferred to individual indoor rooms recovered from alopecia and hair growth began withina week. Hence we concluded that hair losses in outside enclosures are due to environmental stress. .. To conclude, if macaques are to be kept in outdoor group housing during hot months, a proper environment should be provided to reduce heat stress, which, in turn, prevents hair loss.
