Enhanced indoor housing for research dogs (2008)

Jeans, G. L., Fryer, D. A., Casey, K. W. et al.

Abstract

The new panels were shorter and included side-access gates, visual barriers, and raised benches. Additionally, we added sound baffling panels to the wards, which dramatically reduced the reverberate noise levels. ... The dogs all use their raised platforms and can easily see what is happening throughout the ward because of increased visibility. The flexibility of the side access gates allow us to house dogs based on compatibility and research study needs. In addition, shorter kennel walls invite human-to-dog interaction.
