Comfortable quarters for amphibians and reptiles in research institutions (2002)
Kreger, M. D.
Abstract
Practical guidelines for the species-adequate housing of amphibians and reptiles. In many respects cold-blooded animals are more interactive with their environments than warm-blooded animals. At the same time, they tend to have greater problems adapting to changes in their species-typical environment. Therefore, the design of their artificial habitats demands special care if research-biasing stress and distress responses to species-inadequate environmental conditions are to be avoided.
