Behavioural effects of transferring singly housed baboons to outdoor social groups (1997)
Kessel, A. L. , Brent, L.
Abstract
Moving singly housed baboons to an enriched outdoor enclosure had significant effects on all behaviors analyzed. Abnormal behavior, cage directed activities, and self-directed activities all decreased in the corn cribs. Inactivity, locomotion, and normal behavior, as well as enrichment directed activities and social behavior all increased in the corn cribs. The group formation protocol and the animals' behavior during the first week after group formation are not described.
