Abstract

One calf nibbles and pulls at the coat of a lying partner's neck and wither. The latter quickly interrupts this by getting to his feet (Fig. 11). .. Nibbling and gentle pawing were unrelated to dominance and competition. .. the recipient was encouraged to get onto his feet, but he was not being forced to move out of the way.
