Behavioral responses of Barbary macaques (Macaca sylvanus) to variations in environmental conditions in Algeria (1997)

Menard, N., Vallet, D.

Abstract

Annual time budgets of Barbary macaques did not differ noticeably between the two sites investigated. Monkeys spent around 5 h resting (more than 35% of the day) and only 1.3-1.5 h in social activities in a mean day length of 13 h. They fed for approximately 3 h (about 23% of the day).
