Abstract

Fruit, milk, eggs, bread etc. was eliminated from the diet. Food with a great deal of roughage was added in unlimited quantities like foliage, lucerne, alfalfa hay and vegetables. ... Eating of feces was eliminated by adding more vegetables to their menu. Aggressive behavior among the gorillas was greatly reduced after modification of their diet. ... Our very sensitive male gorilla, Kim, calmed down considerably and was more relaxed. ... Playfulness has increased. ... With the changing of food the gorillas not only are psychologically healthier but also show an increased libido.
