Attempting enrichment harmonization across multiple sites and embracing our differences (2018)

Abstract

A glabal enrichment committee incorporates active members from each of the company's 6 sites and works towards harmonization of enrichment practices. One of the hot topics is attempting to standardize mouse enrichment and social housing practices. This has proven to be quite challenging. A multitude of options exist regarding enrichment items; each site's selection also must consider the needs of the strains and sexes being used and the different therapeutic areas and research goals. This article provides a brief description of our experience, changes we have been able to implement across sites, current differences, and the process(es) involved along the journey.
