An inexpensive, climate-controlled enclosure for gibbons utilizing appropriate technology (1989)

Dahl, J. F.

Abstract

A gibbon-adequate enclosure design is outlined. After 25 training sessions the female reliably entered the tunnel within 15 sec after the guillotine door was raised. She usually urinated within 30 min of entering the tunnel, whereupon the urine pan was taken away. ... While the female was confined in the tunnel, the male had potentially close contact with her through the wire-mesh north wall.
