A study of environmental enrichment in groups of captive lion tamarins (Leontopithecus rosalia & Leontopithecus chrysmelas) (1995)

Beck, R. P. A.

Abstract

Woodwool turned out to be a very useful substrate for group-housed tamarins. An important effect of the woodwool substrate was increased hygiene. An insect dispenser is described which was rarely used by adults, who would sit underneath it and wait for any insects to fall out due to the frantic foraging in the device of other animals.
