Abstract
Slings make a relatively comfortable restraint for pigs. The pressure on the belly seems to have a calming effect. Most Yucatan pigs, regardless of size, can be restrained by one person when using the sling method. When sling-restrained, most Yucatan miniature swine will not only lie quietly, but often sleep during the experimental procedures.
